ALLTIMEIPTV – The Part That Matters Is What Happens After You Pay

IPTV Not Working? Start With the Symptom, Not the Settings

IPTV Not Working? Start With the Symptom, Not the Settings

When IPTV is not working, the symptom tells you where the fault is before any setting does. A black screen, an “authorization failed” message and an empty channel list all feel like the same ruined evening, yet they come from three different places: the decoder, the login and the playlist. This checklist is sorted by what you can see on the screen, in roughly the order we ask questions on the ALLTIMEIPTV WhatsApp line, with the fix that usually follows each answer.

Start with two questions

Is it everything, or one channel? Is it every device, or just one? Those two answers rule out most causes in under a minute, and they are the first two things we will ask you anyway.

IPTV not working? Narrow it down in thirty seconds

What you see Usually means Section to read
Nothing plays on any device An ended term, your home internet, your line being blocked, or a fault on our side Everything down at once
Nothing plays on one device That device, or the app on it Login errors, or crashes
The app opens but the list is empty The playlist never loaded, or loaded the wrong way No channels loading
One channel dead everywhere That channel’s feed One channel down
One channel dead on one device That device’s decoder meeting that feed Black screen

Black screen

A black screen comes in three versions, and each one points somewhere else.

Black picture, sound playing

The stream is arriving and the device cannot draw it. This is nearly always the decoder meeting a feed it dislikes, often a 4K channel in HEVC on an older television or budget box. Switch the player’s decoder between hardware and software, or play the same channel’s FHD or HD copy. It takes seconds, and it has nothing to do with your account.

Spinner, then black, no sound

The player asked for the channel and nothing came back. If other channels play normally, the feed itself is down, so skip to the one-channel section below. If nothing plays at all, go straight to the everything-down section.

Black on every channel, on one device only

The app has got itself into a bad state. Force-stop it, which on Fire TV and Android TV sits on the same app page as Clear cache, then reopen it. If that fails, restart the device with the power pulled for thirty seconds rather than using the remote’s off button.

“Authorization failed” and other login errors

Every player words it differently: “authorization failed”, “invalid credentials”, “login failed”, “account not found”. They all mean the server did not accept what the app sent. Work through these in order:

  1. Retype rather than paste. Pasting from a chat often drags in an invisible trailing space. Usernames and passwords are case-sensitive, and on many TV fonts a zero looks like a capital O and a lowercase L looks like a capital I.
  2. Check the server URL. It needs the http:// at the front and the port number at the end if one was given, exactly as sent. The Xtream Codes setup guide shows which value goes in which field.
  3. Check the expiry date. Some apps report an ended term as a login error rather than saying so plainly.
  4. Count what is playing. If every simultaneous stream on your plan is in use, the newest login gets refused. A phone with the app still open in the background counts as one.
  5. Give a brand-new account a few minutes. Activation takes under 15 minutes, and a login tried in the first moments after ordering can fail once and then work.

If all five check out and the error stays, send us a photo of the screen with the exact message on it. The wording differs from app to app, and it tells us which step is failing.

The app opens, but no channels load

An empty list, or categories that open with nothing inside them, means the app itself is fine but the playlist did not arrive, or arrived in the wrong form.

  • IPTV Smarters Pro: the add-user screen offers both “Login with Xtream Codes API” and a playlist or file option. The playlist route can leave you with channels but no guide or on-demand section, or with nothing at all if the link was cut short. Remove the user and add it again with the Xtream option; the Smarters guide shows the screen.
  • M3U link typed on a remote: a long address entered one character at a time is easy to truncate. The M3U playlist guide covers the loading options.
  • Smart IPTV: there is no login screen. The app shows a MAC address, and the playlist is added against that MAC on the developer’s website. After a TV reset or a reinstall, the playlist has to be added again. Leaving “Keep online” unticked can also leave the app holding a stale copy of the list. The Smart IPTV guide walks through both.
  • Hidden categories: if you tidied the list by hiding groups, a category can look empty when it is simply filtered. Check the player’s group or category settings.

A list that loads with a guide that stays blank is a separate and smaller issue. Force a guide update in the player’s settings, then set it to refresh on its own every twelve hours or so.

One channel down, everything else fine

This is the one symptom with genuinely nothing to fix at home. A single channel failing while the rest of the list plays is that channel’s feed, upstream of your account and your equipment. Reinstalling the app or restarting the router will not bring it back, and we would rather you did not lose an evening trying.

What does help is trying the channel’s other versions in your list, since a lighter copy can sometimes play while the 4K one does not. Then tell us the channel name exactly as it appears in your list, plus the time it went down. Similar names repeat across countries, and “the sports channel” could be any of dozens.

The app crashes, freezes or closes itself

Crashes are nearly always the device or the app version rather than the service. The order that works:

  1. Update the player from the store it came from.
  2. Clear the app’s cache, but not its data, which would wipe your login.
  3. Free up storage if the device is close to full.
  4. Restart with the power pulled for thirty seconds.
  5. Reinstall, with your credentials to hand, because you will be entering them again.

If the same app crashes on one television and runs happily on another, try a different player on the problem device. Your credentials work in any of them, and a lighter app often runs smoothly where a heavier one keeps falling over.

Everything down at once

Nothing plays on any device in the house. This is the version of IPTV not working that worries people most, and it usually has the most ordinary cause. Work down this list before changing anything:

  1. The expiry date. Check it in the player’s account screen. An ended term looks exactly like an outage, and renewing restores the same login, favorites and all.
  2. Your own internet. Open an ordinary website on the same device. If that fails as well, the problem is your connection, and the router or your internet provider comes first.
  3. A phone on mobile data. Switch its Wi-Fi off and try a channel. If it plays on mobile data but nothing plays on your home network, the service is running and something between your home connection and us is getting in the way.
  4. The timing. A service that stops completely on every screen at the same moment, often during a big live event, while websites load normally, can mean your internet provider is blocking the connection.

For those last two cases, message us on WhatsApp with the name of your internet provider, your city and the time it stopped. We will tell you plainly what is happening and what we can do from our side. Please do not install “fix” apps or change network settings suggested in forum threads; they tend to add a second problem without solving the first.

And sometimes it is simply us. If everything drops for you while your internet is fine, tell us straight away. We would much rather hear it in the first five minutes than read about it the next morning.

Before you depend on it, and before you message us

Whatever the symptom, three things turn a long back-and-forth into a single reply: a photo of the screen showing the error, the device and app where it happens along with whether other devices are affected, and what you have already tried. “Expiry is fine, retyped the login, restarted the stick” lets us skip straight to the next step. For stutters and pauses rather than outright failure, the buffering checklist has its own list of useful details, and our guide to IPTV customer support explains what a good reply to messages like these should contain.

Most problems on this page show up in the first hour on a new device: a mistyped server URL, an app that wants a MAC address, a television that will not decode 4K. The 24-hour free trial is there to flush them out while nothing is at stake. Set it up on each screen the household will use, play something on each, and send us whatever goes wrong. When everything works, the plans are listed by how many screens play at once, and the first seven days after paying are covered by the money-back guarantee.

Frequently asked questions

Why is my IPTV not working on my TV but working on my phone?

When the service plays on one device and not another, your account is active and the service is running; what fails is that one device. Check the login details on that TV character by character, update or reinstall the player, and restart the TV with the power pulled for thirty seconds. If the phone is on mobile data and the TV is on home Wi-Fi, also test the phone on Wi-Fi, because that points to the home network instead.

What does "authorization failed" mean on IPTV?

It means the server rejected the login the app sent. The usual causes are a typo in the username or password, a server URL missing the http:// or the port number, an ended subscription, or every simultaneous stream on the plan already being in use. Retype the details instead of pasting them, check the expiry date, and close the app on other devices before trying again.

Why did my IPTV stop working after a TV update?

A system update can reset app permissions, clear stored data or replace the app with a newer version that needs signing in again. Open the player and re-enter your login. On apps that use a MAC address, such as Smart IPTV, check that the playlist is still linked to the TV and add it again on the developer's website if needed. If it still fails, send support a photo of the screen.

How do I know if my internet provider is blocking IPTV?

The typical sign is a service that stops completely on every device at the same moment while ordinary websites keep loading, often during a big live event. A phone on mobile data may play channels at the same time. If you see that pattern, message support on WhatsApp with your provider's name, your city and the time it stopped, so the issue can be looked at properly.

Do I lose my favorites if I reinstall the IPTV app?

Often, yes. Favorites, hidden categories and player settings are usually stored inside the app on that device, so reinstalling or clearing its data removes them, and you will need to enter your login again. Clearing only the cache keeps them. Some players can back up settings, so check yours before reinstalling if you have spent time organizing your channel list.
