Step-by-step setup
Install it by whichever door your platform uses
Google Play on Android. The Samsung and LG stores list it as IPTV Smarters. Apple calls it IPTV Smarters Player. A Firestick needs it sideloaded through Downloader, covered on the Firestick page. Windows and macOS installers come from the developer's site. One application, six front doors.
Take the Xtream route every time
The opening screen offers more than one way in. Choose Xtream Codes unless support has told you otherwise: it pulls the programme guide and the on-demand library automatically, where a playlist frequently arrives with neither. A surprising number of disappointing first evenings come down to this single choice, and it is not obvious which one is better from the screen itself.
Name the profile after the room
The label is yours to invent and worth three seconds. In a house with five screens, Lounge and Back bedroom tell you instantly which device you are looking at when something needs changing; the brand name on all five tells you nothing. Then the three values exactly as sent.
Fix default one: the guide over live television
Under EPG settings, enable the guide while a channel plays. Off by default, not discoverable, and its absence is why people describe this app as feeling thin. Thirty seconds, and it changes the impression completely.
Fix default two: the opening section
Set which section the app opens into, so it starts where this person actually watches rather than on a menu they have to navigate past every time. Also off by default. Between them these two settings account for most of what gets reported to us as the app being basic.
Set it up identically on every screen
Same profile naming convention, same two defaults, same decoder setting. It feels fussy and it pays off the first time somebody rings you from another room: you know exactly what they are looking at without asking. In a household where one person supports the rest, consistency is worth more than any individual feature.
Set the decoder and the quality together
Player settings: built-in player, hardware decoding, then the quality this device should request — 4K on the main television, HD everywhere else. Doing both at once, per screen, is the most effective ten minutes available and prevents the commonest evening complaint.
Repeat on every screen, including unused ones
Installations are not rationed and an idle screen costs nothing. Two minutes each once you have done the first. The households that get least from a subscription are invariably those that configured one television and stopped.
Common errors and fixes
Your account has expired
Whose: the calendar, and nothing is broken. Renew and the same credentials come back within minutes with favourites and settings intact on every screen. Nothing needs reinstalling anywhere, which is worth knowing before you start uninstalling things.
Login accepted, channel list empty
Whose: the server field, usually the port. An empty list behind a successful login means the address reached something real that is not us. Refresh, sign out, sign in. Still bare — check that field character by character before suspecting anything else.
It keeps closing on a Firestick
Whose: an old build. Clear the app cache under Settings, Applications, Manage installed applications, then reopen. If it continues, remove it and install a current APK — an old sideloaded copy on updated Fire OS is common and takes four minutes to resolve.
The same screen is always the one refused
Whose: your plan, and it is a sequencing effect rather than a fault in that device. The tier rejects the newest stream, so whichever television starts last appears broken. Change the order and watch the symptom move to a different room.
The on-demand section is empty
Whose: the login route. This is what happens when a playlist was entered instead of the Xtream credentials — the playlist frequently carries no catalogue and no guide. Sign out, sign back in with Login with Xtream Codes API, and both appear. It is the commonest consequence of taking the wrong branch on the opening screen.

Does the app cost anything?
No, on any platform, and never has. What confuses people is that it opens completely empty — it carries no television of its own and does nothing until an account is entered. Anything demanding payment inside the app is not this app.
What is the 'Smarters subscription' people search for?
It does not exist as a product. Searching that phrase means looking for a service that works inside the player, which is what an account here is: an Xtream login typed in once per screen.
Against TiViMate?
TiViMate is better on Android and costs about ten dollars a year for a superior guide, recording and multi-view. Smarters is free and runs where TiViMate cannot. A completely normal arrangement is TiViMate on the sport screen and Smarters everywhere else.
Do settings survive a reinstall?
Favourites and preferences live on that device and there is no cloud backup, so a clean reinstall loses them — about ten minutes to rebuild. The credentials are unaffected. This is the practical argument for keeping those three values somewhere findable rather than in a chat thread.
Is it safe to install from outside an app store?
On a Firestick it has to be, because Amazon does not stock it, and sideloading is a supported Fire OS feature rather than a workaround. Take the APK from the developer's own site or the link we send — not from a search result, which is where the genuine risk here lives.
Will it work if I change provider later?
Yes. Smarters holds no content of its own, so any Xtream login goes into it including somebody else's. Nothing you configure is locked to us. That cuts both ways honestly: it means we have to keep being worth paying for rather than relying on switching being awkward.
Can I use the account on a phone away from home?
Yes, over mobile data or any wifi, and it counts as one of your simultaneous screens while it plays. An HD channel is roughly 2 GB an hour, which a capped mobile plan notices quickly — worth knowing before a long journey.
